FAQs
August 21, 2010If you don’t see your question answered here, feel free to email me.
How far in advance should I book a session? How do I book a session?
I take on a limited number of sessions per month so I can dedicate my time and attention to each client. Therefore, I recommend booking early to ensure availability. Once you book a session, you lock in the prices at the time your payment was received.
To book a session, you can email, or contact me. I will get back to you to schedule a date. Locations don’t need to be finalized at the time of booking.
When do I book my newborn session?
Ideally, you would contact me during your pregnancy so I can pencil you in around your due date. I understand that babies have a schedule of their own and may come early or late and I’ll accommodate you. Then when your baby arrives, send me an email or give me a call and we will schedule your session.
If you have not prebooked a session, give me a call as soon as possible. I do my best to set aside time for newborns.
When do I book my maternity session?
As with any session, book early to ensure availability. I schedule maternity sessions for the third trimester, generally between 32-36 weeks. I find it works best around that time because you have a nice big belly, but aren’t too uncomfortable. Ask about my New Baby session package for a mini maternity session and full newborn session with birth announcements.
Where will the photo session take place?
The session can take place anywhere in San Diego or surrounding areas. (Beyond 40 miles roundtrip from 92127, there is a nominal travel fee.) Common places to have sessions include your home/backyard, a park, the beach, or an open space area. If you are at loss, I am happy to provide suggestions based on what kind of “background” you are looking for. You can also get some ideas from browsing through my blog and finding locations that you like.
What does the session fee include?
Your session fee secures your date and covers the photographer’s time and talent to professionaly compose and edit 20-30 finished images. Travel to a location of your choice within 40 miles roundtrip of 92127 is included. Prints and digital images are sold separately.
How do I order after the session?
I use online ordering. A link to a password protected gallery is emailed to you about two weeks after your session. Ordering takes place from the comfort of your home, or on the go. I find this easier for clients so you can easily find a convenient time, even if it’s late at night, and you can share the private online gallery with family and friends.
Do you offer other sizes or types of products other than what is listed in your price sheet?
Yes! If you are looking for something specific let me know and I’ll do my best to get it for you. I spent a lot of time evaluating products and carefully selecting items I myself would want to have. With the demand for digital images, I geared my offerings toward items that would allow you to display and enjoy your pictures and give you the flexibility to print your own gift prints for family and friends.
Do you sell gift certificates?
Yes I do. They come in increments of $50. They are tangible cards so you can gift them for birthdays or other special occasions.
Do you have a referral program?
Yes most definitely. I love referrals! Details are included in your order packet.
What is a cake smash session?
A cake smash session is a regular portrait session split in two. The first half of the session consists of portraits of your 1 year old, and the second half we sit back and watch them dig into their birthday cake. Here is a storyboard that was ordered from a cake smash session to give you a better idea of what second half of the session is like.
Do you photograph weddings?
Yes I am taking a very limited number of weddings. Please send me an email for details.
Where do you print your photos?
I use a pro lab that does not sell to the general public.
